SEATTLE SEAHAWKS
- Seattle had their five-match winning streak brought to an end as they lost a high-quality NFC West battle against Los Angeles Rams and that result has given the Seahawks some food for thought in the race for the play-offs.
- The Seahawks suffered a huge injury blow last week after running back Rashaad Penny went down with a season-ending injury to his ACL and they are likely to add some depth in the position before this game.
- Defensive end Jadeveon Clowney has been suffering with a core injury of late and despite playing through it recently, he is struggling with an illness which forced him to sit out Wednesday’s practice along with left tackle Duane Brown who has several injuries.
CAROLINA PANTHERS
- Carolina were unable to end their losing streak despite sacking head coach Ron Rivera as Atlanta became the latest side to defeat them and that means the Panthers have now lost five consecutive games which has ended their hopes of making the play-offs.
- The season has turned sour for the Panthers and they could attempt to shut down star running back Christian McCaffrey to protect him for next year but that will not happen for this week at least.
- Pass rusher Mario Addison suffered a chest injury on Sunday and he is questionable to suit up for this Week 15 contest after sitting out practice on Wednesday where he joined offensive tackle Greg Little and defensive tackle Gerald McCoy while tight end Greg Olsen remains in the concussion protocol.
THE PREDICTION
Seattle's hopes for the season suffered a blow in two aspects against Los Angeles Rams last week. Not only did they lose that divisional matchup but they also lost running back Rashaad Penny for the season. They head to an out-of-sorts Carolina as they aim to get back on track and keep the pressure on San Francisco at the top of the NFC West and they should have little trouble in getting back to winning ways.
