Alibek Kachimazov vs Juan Pablo Ficovich prediction
Alibek Kachimazov lost in the first stage of Wimbledon qualifying last time out despite taking the first set against Marco Trungelliti. His best result this season was a final appearance in Gwangju on the Challenger Tour, which was on hard courts at the end of April. He also reached a semi-final a week later in Guangzhou on the same surface.
Juan Pablo Ficovich has made the final of two Challenger events in Merida and Cordoba three months ago, but both were on clay. His hard court record is less impressive, and he has only competed in three events this season on the surface.
Both players are ranked way outside the top 150 and this could very well go to a deciding set. Kachimazov may be viewed as a slight favourite as he has more hard court matches under his belt this season but Ficovich still has a quarter-final appearance to his name on the surface and will fancy his chances against a lower-ranked opponent.
