Al Taawon finished in the top four of the Saudi Pro League last season so their current position of eighth ahead of this weekend would be viewed as a disappointment. They returned from the winter break with a quarter-final defeat to Al Qadsiah in the King Cup of Champions before then hammering the same opposition in the league last weekend. They face an Al Nassr side that, coached by Stefano Pioli, have been unconvincing throughout this campaign and they had to come from behind to defeat Al Okhdood last weekend.
