These are two teams that could probably do without an FA Cup quarter-final and a possible trip to Wembley Stadium slap bang in the middle of a relegation battle.

West Ham preview: Battling Irons

West Ham United have been much-improved since mid-January, with the beginning of their improvement being a defeat of Queens Park Rangers after extra-time in the third round of the FA Cup at the London Stadium.

The Hammers did, though, head into the March international break having passed up the opportunity to overtake Tottenham Hotspur as they succumbed to a 2-0 loss to Aston Villa at Villa Park in a game whereby the score line flattered Nuno's Londoners.

Leeds preview: Frustrated Leeds

Leeds United have been good this season. They have struggled to get over the line in terms of victories in the Premier League and that has undermined them but they have become very difficult to beat - albeit almost too obdurate.

Daniel Farke needed to change his style and that had produced much better results than his previous time in the Premier League with Norwich City. However, the balance has not quite been found as they hover just outside of the bottom three.

West Ham team news: Summerville still out

Former Leeds United man Crysencio Summerville has been excellent for a while but he is sidelined until at least later this month, while Jean-Clair Todibo is also a doubt for the hosts.

Predicted XI (4-2-3-1): Areola; Walker-Peters, Mavropanos, Disasi, Scarles; Soucek, Kante; Bowen, Fernandes, Adama; Pablo

Unavailable: Fabianski (Injured), Summerville (Injured)

Questionable: Todibo (Injured)

Leeds team news: DCL a doubt

Anton Stach pulled off a training session in midweek but appears to fit for this one, while Dominic Calvert-Lewin has reportedly felt a hamstring injury in a recent training session, too.

Predicted XI (3-4-1-2): Perri; Rodon, Bijol, Struijk; Justin, Stach, Ampadu, Bogle; Aaronson; Calvert-Lewin, Nmecha

Unavailable:

Questionable: Stach (Injured), Calvert-Lewin (Injured)

West Ham vs Leeds prediction

Leeds have been strong for a few months now and they comfortably defeated Norwich City to flex their muscles in the fifth round - and a trip to Wembley will ease the tension that has built up around a slight a dip in Premier League form. West Ham needed extra-time against QPR and League One strugglers Burton Albion before winning on penalties against Brentford. The cup isn't a priority and, seemingly by accident, they have stumbled into this position. That, as well as the lack of former Leeds man Crysencio Summerville due to injury, could mean Leeds reach an FA Cup semi-final for the first time since 1987.

West Ham vs Leeds tip: Double chance - Leeds to win or draw
