Rodolfo Vieira: Can the BJJ phenom right the ship?

Widely touted as one of the greatest heavyweight grapplers in MMA history, Rodolfo Vieira (11-5) simply hasn't managed to translate his ferocious BJJ to MMA as he would have liked. 6-5 since joining the promotion as an undefeated older prospect, Vieira still retains his grappling acumen but hasn't been able to implement it as effectively as you would think he is capable of. In addition to a brutal headkick KO loss to Bo Nickal, he's arguably best known for losing by submission to Anthony Hernandez in a wild loss that made the world sit up and take notice of "Fluffy." He epitomizes the fact that single discipline experts don't always have the greatest success in MMA - just ask Gable Steveson. 

Robert Bryczek: What version of the Polish slugger shows up on fight night?

Owner of one of the most unintentionally hilarious motivational soundbites in history - seriously guys, “never ever believe in yourself, and give up” - Robert Bryczek (18-7) returns following a convincing decision loss to Cam Rowston in his last appearance. Signed to the promotion from Oktagon with a reputation as a heavy-handed KO artist, the Pole has been maddeningly inconsistent across his three fight run with the UFC, sandwiching an impressive beatdown TKO of Brad Tavares with convincing decision losses to Ihor Poteria and the aforementioned Rowston.

First and foremost, it’s got to be said; this is a front-runner for the worst co-main event of 2026. This matchup would struggle to make it onto the early prelims of a numbered card.

The outcome of this one really depends on what version of Bryczek shows up on fight night. If he looks like he did against Brad Tavares, then I think he bombs Vieira out of there before the final bell. The Brazilian is only one fight removed from an absolutely brutal KO loss to Bo Nickal and has just turned 37.

However, Bryczek has been consistently inconsistent throughout his UFC run. There’s no shame in losing to Cam Rowston, but getting beaten (and knocked down!) by Ihor Poteria was a really bad look. He was also soundly outgrappled in the Rowston fight, the area where Vieira figures to also have a considerable advantage courtesy of his jiu-jitsu accolades.

I think this goes one of two ways; either Bryczek nukes Vieira out cold as they exchange on the feet, or the Brazilian smothers him across three rounds to earn the decision. Neither outcome would come as a particular surprise, but I’m tentatively leaning towards the Pole to get this one done.
