THE PREDICTION

World number six Stefanos Tsitsipas is in pole position to claim the sixth ATP Finals qualification place after a strong run to the semi-finals of the Vienna Open last week, where he lost in straight sets to eventual runner-up Daniil Medvedev. If the 25-year-old does make it to Turin it will be built largely on his runner-up finish to Nova Djokovic at the Australian Open in January, with just the one ATP title picked up in Los Cabos back in August to show for 2023 so far. World number 19 Felix Auger-Aliassime has endured the worst season of his young career this year but he impressively turned it around in Basel last week, successfully defending his title with huge results over Holger Rune and Hubert Hurkacz. The 23-year-old beat Jan-Lennard Struff in straight sets on Tuesday to make it six wins on the spin, avoiding the post-title slump, and he will see this match as his statement to the tour that he is back and ready to make waves next season.

Tsitsipas leads their head-to-head 5-3 but the pair have not played since Auger-Aliassime beat him to the Rotterdam Open early last year. Back the Canadian to earn at least a set to leave the victor up to chance.

BETTING TIP: Felix Auger-Aliassime to win a set.
