World number 98 Harriet Dart helped Great Britain to a 3-2 victory over United Cup hosts Australia by beating Maddison Inglis in straight sets on Friday, backing up her excellent recent form at international level. The 26-year-old enjoyed the best season of her career in 2022 and capped it off by stunning both Ajla Tomljanovic and next opponent Paula Badosa at the Billie Jean King Cup back in November so she will be well up for this rematch. World number 13 Badosa will be eager to avenge that defeat but it remains to be seen how she starts her 2023 season after 2022 trailed off so poorly. The Spaniard won the first tournament of 2022 at the Sydney Tennis Classic but she won just six of her last 15 matches to miss out on WTA Finals qualification in what looked more like a confidence issue rather than fitness. Dart has never lost to Badosa and she is well capable of repeating the feat with a match in her legs already this week. Leave this head-scratcher out of any accumulators but consider backing Dart to earn at least a set to leave the winner up to chance.
