Australian veteran Sam Stosur teamed up well with John Peers on Friday to save some face in a 3-2 defeat to Great Britain. 38-year-old Stosur has eight Grand Slam titles to her name, seven of which have come in Women’s and Mixed Doubles, whilst Peers won the US Open last season alongside fellow Aussie Storm Sanders, now Hunter. The heavyweight partnership of Rafael Nadal and Paula Badosa failed to materialise against Great Britain on Sunday as the tie was already out of Spain’s reach at 3-1 but with this tie between Spain and Australia currently level at 1-1 the pair could be required. Badosa is more than likely to defeat Zoe Hives in the first match of Tuesday and Pablo Carreno Busta should get the job done against Jason Kubler but with some uncertainty on his fitness it is best to wait for confirmed teams once the four singles matches are complete.
