THE PREDICTION
Former world number three Dominic Thiem is the last Austrian standing in Kitzbuhel, where he was champion in 2019, after a strong comeback over in-form Zhizhen Zhang on Wednesday, recovering well from a poor start. The 29-year-old has been struggling to find his fierce best on court practically ever since undergoing serious wrist surgery last season but a week like this, if it continues, could be the start of a proper return to form. World number 67 Arthur Rinderknech stunned second seed Yannick Hanfmann in straight sets on Wednesday to back-up a three-set comeback over Juan Manuel Cerundolo in the first round. The Frenchman appears to be slowly finding his feet again on court after a choppy past 12 months and it would not be a surprise to see him take this first meeting with Thiem to three sets as a very solid all-courter. Thiem can count on a partisan atmosphere here, though, and that certainly looked to help him in the previous round. Back the Austrian favourite to win outright.
