Cristina Bucsa vs Bianca Andreescu prediction
Cristina Bucsa arrives in Guadalajara after a solid run to the third-round of the US Open. The Spaniard opened with an upset of Sara Bejlek, before surviving a tough battle with Himeno Sakatsume. She went a break up against world number four Coco Gauff but went on to lose in straight sets. She has managed to find form following a slump after her first tour-level title at the Merida Open.
Bianca Andreescu enters the main draw as a wildcard, and she will be playing her first competitive match since US Open qualifying. The Canadian comfortably beat Eva Vedder and Veronika Podrez in her first two qualifying matches, before a loss to Tamara Zidansek. Andreescu is currently ranked well outside the top 150 in the world, but her pedigree on hard courts makes her significantly more dangerous than her ranking suggests.
Andreescu has the attacking qualities to trouble Bucsa, but the Spaniard’s consistency and ability to extend rallies should prevent the Canadian from having things entirely her own way.
Cristina Bucsa vs Bianca Andreescu tip: Over 20.5 games
