THE PREDICTION
World number three Daniil Medvedev needed three sets to progress for the second time this week, beating Karen Khachanov on Friday to back-up a comeback over Grigor Dimitrov. The 27-year-old looks in good shape to defend his Vienna Open title this weekend, which would be a sixth for the season and a 21st overall, but world number seven Stefanos Tsitsipas will certainly be up for the challenge. Medvedev beat the Greek in each of their first five encounters but since the ATP Finals in 2019, where Tsitsipas claimed his most prestigious title yet, Tsitsipas has won four of seven encounters to bring their head-to-head up to 8-4. The fourth seed beat Borna Gojo in straight sets on Friday to improve on a three-set victory over in-form Tomas Machac but whilst this is a significant step up in quality you do feel like occasions like this bring the best out of his currently vulnerable mentality. Medvedev beat Tsitsipas in straight sets en-route to the Rome Masters title back in May, in their only previous meeting this season, and backing him to edge this outright feels reasonable given their current forms.
BETTING TIP: Daniil Medvedev to win.
