29-year-old Damir Dzumhur lost to Marco Trungelliti in the final qualifying round but the Bosnian comes through as a lucky loser in Ilya Ivaskha’s place to face Pablo Andujar. World number 161 Dzumhur set a career-high of 23rd back in 2018, the same year he won the last of his three ATP titles but since then he has fallen into a steady decline. World number 83 Pablo Andujar has four titles to his name on his favoured clay and he enjoyed something of a renaissance last summer with some incredible career-best victories over Roger Federer at the Geneva Open and Dominic Thiem in the first round of Roland-Garros. On clay this would be a reasonably comfortable match for the Spaniard but there is the hint of an upset brewing for lucky loser Dzumhur, who has reached the third round here in Melbourne on two previous occasions. There is probably sets in this for both but take Dzumhur to win at least one and leave the rest up to chance.
