THE PREDICTION

World number 13 Barbora Krejcikova beat Aliaksandra Sasnovich with room to spare on Friday to get a promising Miami Open campaign underway. The 27-year-old will have a break from doubles this fortnight after her partner Katerina Siniakova was injure din the first round and it remains to be seen how she fares with just one draw to focus on. World number 21 Madison Keys beat wildcard Robin Montgomery in straight sets on Friday to settle herself into the tournament. The 28-year-old won her only Masters title at the Cincinnati Open back in 2019 and former world number two Krejcikova only recently matched that feat with a superb run at the Dubai Masters last month. Home advantage will favour Keys, who remains one of the most popular players on the WTA tour on home soil, and she beat Krejcikova in their only previous meeting in the quarter-finals of the Australian Open last season. However, Krejcikova beat the top three women on tour to win in Dubai and it took Aryna Sabalenka to oust her from Indian Wells last time out. Back the Czech to level their head-to-head with an outright victory.
