World number 55 Alison Van Uytvanck is capable of feats far greater than her current ranking, with a winning campaign at the Astana Open last season the fifth WTA title of her career. The Belgian made the quarter-finals of Roland-Garros back in 2015 and the round of 16 at Wimbledon in 2016 but she has the game for more on hardcourts with consistency perhaps her main issue. She should have little trouble in this first meeting with world number 154 Cristina Bucsa, who qualified well to reach the main draw of a Grand Slam for only the second time after a first round exit at the US Open last year. Van Uytvanck should blast through in two here but she is without a win yet this season, so take the Belgian to win outright instead.
