The current world number 12 beat Dominic Thiem in a quality comeback match at the Diriyah exhibition this month and he should be fit and firing in what looks a relatively comfortable opener for the German at the United Cup. World number 81 Jiri Lehecka ended his 2022 season in style by finishing runner-up to Brandon Nakashima at the Next Gen ATP Finals and he started last season in solid form on his favoured hardcourts. The Czech could be a troubling opponent for Zverev if he starts slowly and despite his clear status at the favourite it would be wise to back the German to win outright in his first tour-level match since June.
