THE PREDICTION

World number 10 Alex de Minaur reached the round of 16 at Indian Wells last time out, taking the first set form Alexander Zverev before a tight exit. The 25-year-old has enjoyed a truly transformative 12 months on tour to move inside the top 10 for the first time, something that had looked like a considerable season before, and he successfully defended his Mexican Open title last month – beating Stefanos Tsitsipas for the first time in 11 attempts to cap it off nicely. 26-year-old Soonwoo Kwon claimed his first tour-level win in over a year with an impressive straight-sets result over Alexandre Muller on Thursday but he has drawn one of the shorter straws in Miami. The Korean will be relieved to have come through his opener without further injury after struggling to stay on the tour in recent seasons and he should take the positives into the clay swing despite a likely straight sets defeat to in-form De Minaur.

TIP: ALEX DE MINAUR TO WIN 2-0
