World number 27 Dan Evans will no doubt be the most pumped up contender at the Battle of the Brits as, exhibition or not, the 32-year-old always seems to find his best level for international competition. Evans won all three of his ATP Cup matches at the start of the season as Team GB’s most dependable member and he won one of two singles matches at the Davis Cup group stages back in September, not long after emulating his best run on tour with a semi-final exit at the Canada Masters. World number 373 Aidy McHugh will enjoy the home advantage in Aberdeen for Team Scotland but the 22-year-old faces an uphill struggle against perhaps the toughest draw in these circumstances. McHugh enjoyed some success on the ITF circuit in Glasgow back in October but he should find himself outplayed against Evans in this first meeting, Back Evans to win in straight sets.
