THE PREDICTION

24-year-old Jurij Rodionov took full advantage of an out of sorts Sebastian Baez to upset the second seed in straight sets on Friday, backing-up a solid opener over Gregoire Barrere. The Austrian will break inside the top 100 on tour for the first time for his efforts but this looks a step too far against world number 34 Adrian Mannarino, who has been in deceptively strong form in recent months. The 35-year-old needed three sets to oust up-and-comer Alibek Kachmazov on Friday but a recent run to the quarter-finals of the Cincinnati Masters and a tight defeat to Frances Tiafoe in the third round at the US Open are results from a level the veteran has found since the start of the grass swing. Rodionov has some strong momentum from qualifying but Mannarino should be backed to come through outright.
