THE PREDICTION

Third seed Daria Kasatkina won a tight three-set battle with Madison Keys on Thursday to reach the quarter-finals of the Melbourne Summer Set 2 as the highest seed left in the draw. There are plenty of threats left to her pursuit of the title, though, including fast-improving Spaniard Nuria Parrizas-Diaz. The world number 66 found plenty of success on the ITF and WTA 125 circuits last season and her three-set victory over in-form Claire Liu from a set down will see her set a new career high WTA world ranking no matter the outcome here. World number 26 Kasatkina should be winning this match in straight sets but Parrizas-Diaz has earned the right for caution in their first meeting here. Take the Russian to win outright.
