World number 27 Victoria Azarenka is yet to drop a set this week at the Adelaide International and after beating Paula Badosa in the first round here, with the Spaniard winning Indian Wells at Azarenka’s expense last season, the two have paired up for a so far successful doubles team. The 32-year-old will face world number nine Iga Swiatek in a blockbuster quarter-final after the Pole blasted past Leylah Fernandez in straight sets on Thursday. Azarenka was the winner of their only previous meeting with a straight-sets result in the third round of the US Open back in 2020. The Belarussian is clearly gearing up for another shot at the Grand Slam she has won twice in Melbourne later this month but of the two here Iga Swiatek looks the likelier to win at least a set in what could be a thriller in Adelaide.
