World number 100 Kaja Juvan is touted for a big future and beating Adelaide’s second seed Aryna Sabalenka in straight sets in the round of 16 is pretty solid evidence. The 21-year-old struggled for consistent performances last season but she looks the favourite to reach a second semi-final in five tournaments in this first meeting with Misaki Doi. World number 105 Doi has played well so far in Adelaide in keeping with some decent wins last season but the 30-year-old is likely to be overpowered by this promising young Slovenian. Juvan should be able to win this in straight sets but an outright win is the wise move.
