World number 36 Camila Giorgi is the last remaining seed at the Tenerife Ladies Open at fourth and she has a superb opportunity to win her fourth career WTA title, and second of the season after her best-ever result at the Canadian Open. The 29-year-old burst into form over the summer with excellent performances at the Eastbourne International and Tokyo Olympic Games but her first Masters title win in Montreal gives her career a whole new level of meaning. She faces world number 61 Arantxa Rus with the Dutchwoman looking strong so far this week. Rus is yet to drop a set against the fifth seed Viktorija Golubic and she conceded just three to Greet Minnen on Thursday but Giorgi is a significant step up now. The Italian had been on a losing streak until this tournament and a dropped set in the first round makes taking her to win outright seem the safest option here.
