THE PREDICTION
World number 22 Elena Rybakina shocked the world when she beat Serena Williams in straight sets on Sunday but the Kazakh has been threatening a victory like that for some time and she has yet to drop a set at Roland-Garros. The 21-year-old faces world number 32 Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova for the first time here in what should be a fascinating quarter-final. 29-year-old Pavlyuchenkova has fought tooth and nail to reach her seventh Grand Slam quarter-final via incredible wins over Belarusian stars Aryna Sabalenka and Victoria Azarenka but the Russian has not yet made it past this stage of a major tournament. Rybakina’s raw power versus Pavlyuchenkova’s fierce hustle should make for a really entertaining match and a winner looks hard to call on form. Take Rybakina to win at least a set seeing as she has a perfect record so far but this could go either way.
