THE PREDICTION

20-year-old Jenson Brooksby has emerged as one of the most exciting new tennis players on tour this season and after qualifying for the European Open as the top seed his straight-sets victories over Reilly Opelka and Botic Van de Zandschulp have been nothing short of exemplary. The American has a superb chance at winning this title after already reaching an ATP 250 final earlier this year, finishing runner-up to Kevin Anderson at the Hall of Fame Open. He faces another youngster with a bright future in 22-year-old Alejandro Davidovich Fokina, whose defeat of third seed Cristian Garin from a set down was a big statement of intent on Wednesday. ADF is yet to reach a final on tour but he is the vastly more experienced. The world number 44 set a career-high of 32nd just under two months ago after reaching the quarter-finals of Roland-Garros on his best surface but Brooksby looks the man to beat in this first meeting on hard. Take the young American to win outright here.
