THE PREDICTION
Josef Kovalik has come through two tough three-set encounters with South American opposition at the Cordoba Open to set-up a quarter-final with Facundo Bagnis. This is the first tour level meeting between the pair but Bagnis has beaten Josef Kovalik in two Challenger events back in 2017 and 2018 which could go a little way to supporting the Argentine’s claim here. The 30-year-old came through the qualifiers as the first seed there to end up in the last eight after an impressive defeat of Federico Delbonis in straight sets and the slight home advantage Bagnis will feel at his native tournament could swing this in favour of the world number 130 here.
