THE PREDICTION
Clermont scored 40 points of their own away to Castres last time out and will hope to heap pressure on La Rochelle above them in the table, with two games in-hand over Toulouse seeing Clermont an unofficial second-place, realistically. They will not have it all their own way in this one against a Montpellier side who are struggling for momentum after suffering the most postponements in the French Top 14 but their tough-to-take 22-23 loss at home to Bordeaux on Saturday should see them a little sore for this match. The result should go north of 40 points between these two offensive-minded sides but Clermont’s superiority should shine through eventually in a home win.
