- St. Helens suffered their first loss of the season as they went down to Catalans Dragons in the south of France with their late efforts to mount a fightback falling short and they will be eager to respond to that underwhelming performance here.
- Catalans did well to restrict Saints for large spells but they finally found some attacking groove late in the contest, although it wasn’t enough to get themselves ahead and they will now be without their first-choice wingers with Regan Grace joining Tommy Makinson on the sidelines.

- Hull FC put back-to-back losses behind them as they managed to cling on to beat Leeds Rhinos in what was a tremendous defensive performance but they will need to be a lot better with the ball if they are to challenge St. Helens here.
- The Black and Whites were forced to defend their line for much of the second half due to some numerous errors in possession and that will be one area they need to improve, although they will back their defence to stand firm again as one of just three teams yet to concede triple figures.

THE PREDICTION
St. Helens suffered their first loss of the season with Catalans
Dragons proving too good for them last week. The Dragons kept Saints at
bay for much of the game and while they stayed in the contest to almost
complete a comeback attempt late on, it was not enough. They will have
to improve with the ball here but face a tough task against a stout Hull
FC defence who continue to perform well without the ball. They did
enough to see off Leeds Rhinos last week but they also need to improve
with the ball and with two of the league’s best three defensive teams
doing battle in this one, points should be difficult to come by so expect no more
than 44 here.
