- Hull FC’s season is all but over after a costly defeat against Leeds Rhinos last week with the Black and Whites coming out second best in golden point to their top rivals, making it three losses in succession.
- Hull have struggled with injuries for much of the campaign and they look set to end the year with a raft of first-teamers unavailable with Danny Houghton and Adam Swift joining an already lengthy injury list.

- Wigan Warriors produced another underwhelming display as they struggled to break down Warrington Wolves in last week’s clash with the Warriors falling to a fourth loss in five matches.
- Having hoped to turn the corner with a 0-22 success against Castleford Tigers in their previous outing, Wigan could not back it up and their poor attacking play needs to improve ahead of the play-offs having scored an average of just under 16 points per game this season.

THE PREDICTION
Hull FC look set to end the year in disappointing fashion with the
play-offs all but beyond them after last week’s loss to Leeds Rhinos.
The Black and Whites have not seen out the season well having lost seven
of their last eight and they could be in for further woe here. They
take on a Wigan Warriors side also short of form with just one win in
five but the away side will see this as a chance to build some momentum
ahead of the play-offs which is what they should do. However, points are
likely to be at a premium with the pair struggling with the ball of
late and that should lead to a contest that produces no more than 42
points.
