- It has been a poor start to new head coach Ian Watson’s tenure and after a slow opening in which they were completely outplayed last week in last week's clash, he may opt to make some changes to his 17 with Lee Gaskell pushing for a starting spot having impressed on his half-time introduction from the bench.

Huddersfield Giants have made a terrible start to life under Ian Watson and they are yet to get off the mark in Super League. They were poor as they suffered defeat to Hull KR last week and although they were able to fight back from an 18-point deficit, they could not hang on as ultimately they succumbed to a narrow loss. In their bid to break their drought, they must now face defending champions St. Helens in what is set to be another difficult clash for the hosts. Saints struggled to break down Wakefield Trinity in the first half of their contest last week but cut loose in the second half and with the Giants struggling to kick-start their season, the champions can pile the pressure on by covering the -9.5 handicap in this one.
