- Huddersfield Giants failed to live up to their pre-season hype in Round 1 as they struggled to compete against Hull FC last week and they only managed to cross the whitewash late on when the game looked to be beyond them.
- The Giants were missing influential Aidan Sezer for that contest but will hope to have him back in the halves here while Michael Lawrence could also feature but there is no place for the injured Ricky Leutele and Jack Ashworth.

- Catalans Dragons somehow managed to pick themselves up from the canvas as they struck a sucker-blow in Golden Point of their enthralling clash with Hull KR to claim the win in Round 1 last week.
- The French outfit looked superb for 50 minutes as they built a 24-point lead but they allowed Rovers back into the contest late on to force additional time and it took a James Maloney drop goal to seal the success.

THE PREDICTION
There was a lot of hype surrounding Huddersfield Giants during the off-season having spent heavily on their recruitment as well as making the appointment of Ian Watson as head coach but they were outplayed by Hull FC as they succumbed to defeat last week. They will hope to right the wrongs of that effort as they take on Catalans Dragons but the French side will be on a high after they edged a nail-biting affair with Hull KR. The Dragons were brilliant for 50 minutes last week but allowed 24 unanswered points before they were able to snatch a dramatic success in Golden Point. The pair will conceivably believe they can win this and while it could go either way, the Dragons will take a lot from last week's victory and can build on their Round 1 effort to make it back-to-back successes.
