- Brisbane Broncos’ inconsistency reared its head once again as they fell to a big loss against Melbourne Storm last week with their performance a far cry from their upset victory over Sydney Roosters in their previous contest.
- Anthony Milford failed to impress once again and he has been dropped for this game with Tyson Gamble returning from suspension to partner Albert Kelly in the halves but there is no place for Payne Haas and Xavier Coates who are on State of Origin duty.
THE PREDICTION
St. George Illawarra Dragons’ slide down the ladder continued as they
suffered a third straight loss and sixth defeat in seven in another
disappointing outing last week. They were poor against Wests Tigers and
the Dragons need to make serious improvements on both sides of the ball
if they are to retain their spot in the top eight. They come up against
Brisbane Broncos here who will be looking for just their fourth win of
the campaign after a heavy loss to Melbourne Storm last time out. The
Broncos were punished for a sloppy showing in that game with the
premiers and will hope to respond but this could go either way with defensive problems evident for both teams and that should result in a high-scoring encounter that sees at least 47 points scored.
