- Wests Tigers served up a shambolic first half effort against North Queensland Cowboys last week and despite producing a second half fightback, they fell to a disappointing loss to leave them with just one win from five so far this season.
- Head coach Michael Maguire was visibly furious with his side’s efforts and while he has refrained from making sweeping changes, youngster Jake Simpkin will be handed a chance to shine at hooker with Jacob Liddle dropping out.
THE PREDICTION
Wests Tigers have it all to do after yet another abysmal performance last week in which they found themselves 6-28 down to the winless North Queensland Cowboys at half-time. The second half fightback proved in vain as they lost out by four points but the manner of that first half effort left a lot to be desired and they are under serious pressure to respond here. That spells bad news as they come up against in-form South Sydney Rabbitohs who have now won four in a row and look good on both sides of the ball. They will look to restrict the Tigers and capitalise on their porous defence with the Bunnies able to comfortably win this by covering the -16.5 handicap.
