THE TEAM NEWS

SOUTH SYDNEY RABBITOHS

Starting 13: Mitchell, Johnston, Gagai, Graham, Milne, Walker, Reynolds, Arrow, Cook, Tatola, Koloamatangi, Host, Murray – Interchanges: Marshall, Nicholls, Sele, Burgess – Reserves: Knight, Su’A, Mago, Burns

Unavailable: Blake Taaffe (Injured), Brock Gardner (Injured), Jaxson Paulo (Injured), Josh Mansour (Injured)

  • South Sydney Rabbitohs were embarrassed for the second time in three games as they shipped 50 points yet again, this time at the hands of leaders Penrith Panthers and that defeat leaves further question marks over their title credentials.
  • Having lost 0-50 at the hands of Melbourne Storm in Round 9, the Rabbits backed that up with another alarming display on both sides of the ball and they now face another of their top four rivals as they bid to right the wrongs of last week’s 12-56 defeat.

PARRAMATTA EELS

Starting 13: Gutherson, Sivo, Opacic, Blake, Ferguson, Arthur, Moses, Kaufusi, Mahoney, Paulo, Papali’i, Matterson, N. Brown – Interchanges: Niukore, Lane, Lussick, Cartwright – Reserves: Dunster, Makatoa, Penisini, Rankin

Unavailable: Will Smith (Injured), Dylan Brown (Suspended), Reagan Campbell-Gillard (Suspended)

  • Parramatta Eels were outclassed by Manly Sea Eagles last week as their five-match winning streak was ended and they will have to show major signs of improvement here if they are to get back to winning ways.
  • The Sea Eagles were able to exploit the Eels’ right-hand edge defence to hand Parramatta just their second loss of the year but head coach Brad Arthur has kept faith with the same side other than one enforced exception with prop Reagan Campbell-Gillard banned.

THE PREDICTION

Both South Sydney Rabbitohs and Parramatta Eels come into this on the back of disappointing losses last week but for the hosts, they have it all to do following another game where they conceded 50 points. That is twice in their last three games with a huge response needed here against another top four side. The Eels were poor last week as Manly Sea Eagles got the better of them and while they have only lost twice so far this season, that was a concerning loss largely because of how they defended. Their right edge was exploited regularly and with the Rabbitohs very strong when attacking their left edge, the Bunnies could capitalise on the Eels' weakness to get back to winning ways.
