- New Zealand Warriors’ hopes of playing finals football suffered a huge blow as they went down to Brisbane Broncos last week, ending their winning run at three matches and meaning they now need to win-out to have any hope of making the top eight.
- It looks like a tall order for the Warriors who had been performing so well of late but they were their own worst enemies in that contest as they failed to ask enough questions with ball in hand despite failing to complete just six sets.

- Canberra Raiders lost for the second game in succession to leave themselves with plenty of work to do to force their way into the top eight as they failed to capitalise on facing a Manly Sea Eagles side without key man Tom Trbojevic.
- The Raiders had gone into the break leading 12-0 but not for the first time this season, they fell away when it mattered in the second period as they allowed Manly to score 19 unanswered points before snatching a late consolation in the final minute of the game.
THE PREDICTION
Both of these teams desperately need the win here with the loser set
to miss out on a spot in the finals. Even a win for either side will
leave them with more work to do, especially as they need to respond to
last week’s respective disappointing defeats. New Zealand Warriors could
not overcome Brisbane Broncos while Canberra Raiders blew a half-time
lead before falling to Manly Sea Eagles. There is little to split the
pair based on how they have performed so far this season and this game
could go either way as a result but preference is just for the Warriors
who look the more capable of snatching a result.
