- Melbourne Storm bounced back from their loss to Parramatta Eels by overcoming Cronulla Sharks to end the regular season as minor premiers to set up this tantalising clash with Manly Sea Eagles.

- Manly Sea Eagles were able to complete a remarkable turnaround from their dreadful start of the season as they managed to work their way into the top four, ensuring they either earn a bye week or a second bite at the cherry in the finals.

THE PREDICTION
The 2021 NRL finals get underway with what could be the game of the
season so far as minor premiers Melbourne Storm take on Manly Sea
Eagles. Melbourne finished top of the ladder, largely thanks to an
incredible 19-match winning streak in which they proved to be supremely
consistent with their quality seeing them sweep aside almost every
opponent they faced. Manly on the other hand started the season in
dreadful form but they responded well with Tom Trbojevic producing a
sensational campaign which could lead to the Dally M award. The Sea
Eagles are arguably the best attacking side in the competition based on
some of their efforts this season but the all-round quality of the Storm
should prevail here and they can make it five straight wins against
Manly.
