LUIS RODRIGUEZ VS DENYS BONDAR LOWDOWN
Luis Rodriguez (16-2) makes his UFC on debut in front of his home fans. He has earnt the opportunity after stringing together five dubs on the trot including two knockouts and a submission. Two of those finishes have come in his last two outings under the LUX Fight League. He submitted Jaime Londono (2022) and TKO’d Angel Rodriguez back in May last year.
Denys Bondar (14-4) welcomes him to the big time with the desperation of pursuing his first UFC win. It is a surprise to see after blitzing his way to the octagon on an eight-fight win streak. He has had an unfortunate start to his UFC campaign. He broke his arm during his debut with Malcom Gordon (2022) and then collided heads with Carlos Hernandez (2023) forcing a premature technical decision.

There is a lot of pressure on Bondar here to pick up his first UFC win. That said, Rodriguez will have the whole crowd behind with the pressure of being the home favourite.
He is a powerful striker and hunts the finish whether that is on the feet or whether he lands on his back. Bondar is more aggressive and we expect him to swing widely to close the distance so he can take the fight to the floor.
This should create an almighty clash in the middle of the octagon. If Bondar is unable to land the takedown, Rodriguez should pick his shots and counter Bondar with ease landing more damage.
However, we expect Bondar to seal the takedowns he needs and if he can keep Rodriguez pinned down for long enough, his control time should be enough to impress the judges.
