Luke Humphries comes into this one on the back of a ragged week whereby he struggled for much of an impact in two Players Championship events before getting a hard-fought 6-5 win against Gian van Veen in Rotterdam in the Premier League, only to succumb to a frustrating 6-5 loss to Littler in the semi-finals.

Littler eventually went on to be beaten by Jonny Clayton in the final with ‘The Nuke’ showing signs of becoming more and more irritable with the crowd, with incidents in both Manchester and Brighton. Now he heads to Liverpool, where he isn’t the most popular and where he lost in the quarter-finals in 2025.

The crowd being against Littler really can make him quite unpredictable but his losses are so rare that it certainly feels like a high proportion of those losses come when the sulk hits the 19-year-old. As a result, backing Humphries may well be the way to go.
