Juventus have been frustrating for their supporters throughout the campaign but their full focus is now on domestic competitions as they welcome a struggling Empoli side to Turin this week.

Juventus vs Empoli Prediction

The reason as to why Juventus have had to fully focus on their domestic commitments is because of their elimination from the UEFA Champions League at the hands of PSV Eindhoven in the knockout playoff round last week.

That extra-time defeat at the Philips Stadion came after they had defeated the Dutch champions in the first-leg in Turin. Juve have been trying to play a more progressive and possession-based style of football throughout this season but have lacked an efficiency up-front, most recently edging past Cagliari by a goal to nil in Sardinia at the weekend.

Empoli were annihilated by an out of form Atalanta side at Stadio Carlo Castellani at the weekend with the Florence-based club continuing their collapse. Roberto D’Aversa, just about, remains in charge of the visitors but that 5-0 defeat to the Bergamasci means that they have collected just one point from their last 11 matches in Serie A.

In that poor run, they were hammered 4-1 by the goal shy Juventus at the J Stadium so this one does appear to be a foregone conclusion before we even get underway in Piedmont.

Juventus vs Empoli Tip: Juventus to win & under 3.5 goals
