THE PREDICTION
The annual Boxing Day event that is the King George VI Chase is the feature race at Kempton and the field is packed with some high-class chasers. Clan Des Obeaux, Chantry House and Minella Indo are all battling it out at the top of the market in what looks set to be an extremely competitive renewal. The former has won this race twice back in 2018 and 2019 while last year’s winner Frodon will also be in the mix once again this time around. The Paul Nicholls horse got the better of Gold Cup winner Minella Indo when they last met at Down Royal but he needed that run on his seasonal debut and with cheekpieces applied for the first time, Rachael Blackmore will have high hopes of reversing that form to add to the Cheltenham crown earned at the end of last season.
