Two clubs no doubt targeting the league title lock horns on the opening weekend of the WSL as Man City and Arsenal do battle at the Academy Stadium. Jonas Eidevall’s Gunners finished just a point behind eventual champions Chelsea last season and one of their most memorable victories came in their first match, beating Emma Hayes’ side at the Emirates Stadium. Arsenal will be hoping for just as good a start this time round, but Man City are formidable opponents who like the Gunners, contain significant firepower within their frontline. Attack is likely to dominate defence on each side over the course of this one and regardless of who comes out on top, both teams to score looks very much on the cards.
