THE PREDICTION
Rennes come into this on the back of a 2-0 victory over Montpellier Herault at the weekend in Ligue 1. Rennes spent a lot of money in the summer but have been relatively inconsistent in all competitions thus far. Having said that, though, they are now unbeaten in 11 games with some impressive victories over PSG and Lyon in that run. Vitesse were defeated 3-2 by Tottenham in Antonio Conte’s first match a few weeks ago. The visitors were comfortably defeated by PSV Eindhoven at the weekend. Vitesse have won two of their last five matches in all competitions. Rennes, especially with home advantage, will come into this as the relatively comfortable favourites.
