It was the 1992-93 season when the European Cup was rebranded and renamed the UEFA Champions League, which it has remained ever since. Competing in this tournament remains the pinnacle for European clubs, with many giants of the footballing world having experienced their greatest days lifting the famous UEFA Champions League trophy.

We’ve compiled an all-time top 20 ranking of clubs’ performances since the competition’s rebrand in 1992. This includes overall wins, draws, losses, titles won and points accrued, with the latter deciding the order the clubs appear in.

With eight UEFA Champions League titles and 178 wins from 298 UEFA Champions League fixtures, Spanish giants Real Madrid top the rankings with 411 points. Sitting behind ‘Los Blancos’ are their bitter rivals Barcelona on 385 points, having won four UEFA Champions Leagues, not to mention 160 victories from 277 fixtures. The top five is rounded off by Manchester United – the only English side within that top five – and Italian club Juventus, although not only have the Red Devils won one more UEFA Champions League than Juve, they have also accrued 34 more points in the competition since 1992.
