THE PREDICTION

Boavista have drawn four of their last five Primeira Liga matches but remain second-from-bottom in the league table having won just one match so far this season. Seven draws and win out of 12 matches played is interesting form and it seems goal-scoring is their main issue recently, rather than defence, after they claimed their third 0-0 stalemate in five against Maritimo. Fans of Santa Clara are experiencing a vastly different festive period, conceding eight goals over their last five, but a 1-1 draw at home to Benfica on Monday night is an excellent result. The league table is incredibly congested from Santa Clara’s seventh-place and 14 points downwards and every match against teams outside the top six looks vital. As a result, and considering Boavista’s recent run, draw no bet in favour of the hosts should cover for their visitors’ resilience and under 2.5 goals scored looks likely here.
