THE PREDICTION

Tondela claimed a first win in four Primeira Liga matches when they beat Famalicao 1-0 on Sunday and that should make the prospect of travelling to Benfica easier to bear. The hosts are unbeaten in five league matches but dropped their first points of that run with a 1-1 draw away to Santa Clara on Monday night that they will be eager to atone for. Benfica are in third place as things stand beyond Porto on goal difference alone and so improving that will be on the agenda here. The hosts have scored at least two goals at home in each of their six home matches this season but both teams have scored in each of their last three here. Therefore, if Tondela’s recent 4-3 loss away to Porto is anything to go by, a Benfica win and both teams to score looks on and could be combined with over 3.5 goals scored.
