WOLFSBURG
- Wolfsburg produced a strong display last week as they put four goals past Schalke 04 to secure their spot in next season’s Europa League but they face a difficult task to earn the win that would seal sixth place as they host champions Bayern Munich.
- Wout Weghorst continued his fine form to end the season as he added another two goals to make it five goals in his last four appearances while Kevin Mbabu and Joao Victor also found the back of the net before a consolation strike for Schalke.
- Wolfsburg could name an unchanged side for this contest with Bayern with a lot resting on the shoulders of Weghorst as he looks to build on his 16 league goals this season and they will be hoping to have Ignacio Camacho back in the fold following an ankle problem.
BAYERN MUNICH
- Bayern Munich will look to end another title-winning campaign on a high as they build towards the resumption of the Champions League as well as the DFB-Pokal final and they will be desperate to do so having extending their winning run.
- Bayern made it 15 consecutive wins in all competitions while also making it 19 unbeaten in the Bundesliga thanks to a 3-1 success against Freiburg last week with a Joshua Kimmich goal complemented by a brace from the league’s top scorer Robert Lewandowski.
- Niklas Sule, Thiago and Corentin Tolisso will remain on the sidelines for Bayern but they have no other serious injury concerns and they have the luxury of bringing Alphonso Davies back into the side after he served a one-match ban last week.
THE PREDICTION
Bayern Munich have won their last 12 matches in the Bundesliga and
will hope 13 is not an unlucky number for them as they bid to extend
their winning streak. They head to Wolfsburg for their final league game
of the campaign as they look to build ahead of their tilt at the
treble. Wolfsburg will also want to end the season well after securing
European football last week but this will be a hugely difficult
challenge for them and Bayern are likely to prevail.
