Balancing UEFA Europa League commitments against Ligue 1 football was always going to be a difficult task for Toulouse with their European qualification perhaps coming ahead of schedule. However, after a tricky few months, they have grown into the season and now begin the weekend looking to push into the top-half of the table.
The home team come into this one on the back of an impressive 3-0 hammering of Clermont in their most recent outing, last weekend, with a brace from Vincent Sierro either side of a goal by Thijs Dallinga. That victory means Toulouse have now suffered just two losses in their last eight matches across all competitions.
STRASBOURG
Strasbourg are one of a couple of sides in France’s top-flight that are being regularly blighted by off-the-pitch protests as a result of an American-led takeover of their club that has essentially made them a feeder club to Premier League opposition with that being Chelsea in this instance. They have also underperformed on the pitch to go with that.
The Alsace-based club, who have persisted with former Nice and Crystal Palace boss Patrick Vieira, begin the weekend in the bottom-half of the table but they have managed victories either side of the March international break which has helped them ease themselves away from the bottom thre and the relegation places.
