Last season’s FA Cup runners-up Chelsea will be hoping to go one better in the 2021-22 campaign and have the opportunity in the third round to make use of their excellent academy by giving some younger players a chance to shine against Non-League Chesterfield. The Spireites compete in the fifth tier of English football and this fixture represents one of the biggest mismatches of the third round. Whatever team Thomas Tuchel fields for this one should totally dominate possession, dictating the tempo of play as they look to break down their opponents as early as possible. It goes without saying that the effort from Chesterfield will certainly be there in spades, although their players are likely to be chasing the ball for the vast majority of this contest. Whilst they have been the victims of FA Cup giant killings in previous years, any result here other than a Chelsea win by at least two clear goals would be seen as a big surprise.
