THE LOWDOWN

TOTTENHAM

In what has been a generally positive season for Tottenham Hotspur, it would very much unravel if they were to miss out on a top four or five finish and UEFA Champions League qualification after such a bright start to the campaign. They begin the weekend now sitting nine points clear of Manchester United in sixth place.

The north Londoners come into this one on the back of sharing a 1-1 draw with West Ham United in a capital city derby at the London Stadium in midweek with Kurt Zouma cancelling out Brennan Johnson’s opening goal. They have been unconvincing of late and could do with a real final push to the finish line.

NOTTINGHAM FOREST

Nottingham Forest begin this weekend’s round of fixtures sitting just outside of the bottom three and the relegation places. That means they are hovering just three points above the drop as a result of a points deduction that they received during the March international break but they do come into this one on the back of an impressive performance.

A first-half display inspired by Morgan Gibbs-White saw Nottingham Forest race into a 3-0 lead against Fulham on Tuesday evening. They eventually won by three goals to one to end a four-match winless run of form. They will head to the capital city with a bit of confidence, especially in attacking areas.

THE TEAM NEWS

TOTTENHAM

Ange Postecoglou has confirmed that forward Richarlison will ‘probably have this weekend off’ as he recovers from a very minor knee issue that is troubling him.

The Australian manager will remain without the likes of Fraser Forster, Ryan Sessegnon and Manor Solomon with none of those players expected to play again this season.

PREDICTED XI (4-2-3-1): Vicario; Pedro Porro, Romero, Van de Ven, Udogie; Sarr, Bissouma; Kulusevski, Maddison, Werner; Son

UNAVAILABLE: Forster (Injured), Sessegnon (Injured), Solomon (Injured)

QUESTIONABLE: Johnson (Injured), Richarlison (Injured)

NOTTINGHAM FOREST

Nuno Espirito Santo is due to be without key forward Taiwo Awoniyi until at least the end of this month after the Nigerian international took a ‘serious injury’ last week.

Defender Nuno Tavares remains unavailable for at least few weeks, whilst former Wolves defender Willy Boly is still a major doubt for this weekend.

PREDICTED XI (4-2-3-1): Sels; Williams, Omobamidele, Murillo, Toffolo; Yates, Danilo; Elanga, Gibbs-White, Hudson-Odoi; Wood

UNAVAILABLE: Tavares (Injured), Awoniyi (Injured)

QUESTIONABLE: Boly (Injured)

THE PREDICTION

In their last 11 matches across all competitions, Tottenham have won five matches with four of those victories requiring dramatic comebacks. Tottenham have found ways to concede chances and goals in pretty much every game they gave played this season and with a vibrant front four, led by Gibbs-White, beginning to click into gear, Forest will be confident. Spurs are favourites but both teams scoring looks a good bet.

TIP: TOTTENHAM TO WIN & BOTH TEAMS TO SCORE
