Anna Bondar vs Renata Zarazua prediction

Anna Bondar arrives in Beijing playing some of her best hard court tennis of 2026. The Hungarian has traditionally been most comfortable on clay, but last week in Seoul she advanced to her first WTA hard court semi-final of her career, suggesting genuine progress on the surface. She took the first set against Kimberly Birrell but went on to lose in three to the eventual champion. Earlier this month, she also came agonisingly to a major US Open upset, holding five match points against Madison Keys before losing 5-7 6-4 7-6 (5). 

Renata Zarazua is her next opponent. The Mexican is in danger of dropping outside the top 100 of the world rankings after a difficult year. Her best result of the season was a semi-final in Memphis during the North American hard court summer. 

These two faced each other just last week in Seoul, with Bondar coming from a set down to win 2-6 6-3 6-1. Her trajectory and recent level are difficult to ignore once again.
