THE LOWDOWN
LEEDS UTD
- Leeds’ unbeaten start to the season came to an end on Saturday as Brighton secured a narrow 1-0 victory but Jesse Marsch’s men remain in a strong position in the table at this early stage of the season.
- Patrick Bamford is very close to a return and will almost certainly make the squad here, while other changes could be in the pipeline in light of the congested fixture schedule.
EVERTON
- Everton remain winless in the Premier League this season after they were unable to hold on to a lead against Brentford, and Frank Lampard will be desperate for a victory to ease some of the pressure on his shoulders.
- Despite fervent transfer speculation linking him with a move away from the club, Anthony Gordon was on the scoresheet for the Toffees over the weekend and all the signs are that he will start once again here, while new signing Neal Maupay could be involved.

THE PREDICTION
This is certainly a fixture where you’d expect to see goals. Dating back to last season, Leeds have kept just one clean sheet in their last nine Premier League encounters while Everton haven’t kept their opponents out in their last seven league games. We’re not quite at desperation point for Everton yet, but until they get that first win, the pressure will continue to mount. Frank Lampard will certainly feel that his side can cause Leeds problems here though – despite their opponents’ strong start to the season – and a match containing over 2.5 goals is the prediction.
TIP: OVER 2.5 GOALS
